Please tell us about Brain Tumor Action Week. What will be happening?
In just a few weeks, we are planning to gather patients, family members, and health professionals of the brain tumor community to meet with members of congress and their staff to bring awareness and advocate for changes. We hope you can join us.
How can people get involved with that week?
The Brain Tumor Action Week events in Washington DC are open to all who can attend. Interested participants can sign up and join us on Capitol Hill. We will be having an education day on May 2nd and will be meeting with congressional offices on Tuesday, May 3rd. You can learn more about it on our website.
What can people do beyond Brain Tumor Action Month/Action Week?
People can join us in Washington on May 2nd and 3rd, or you can commit to visiting or calling your Congressperson and tell them your story during the month of May. You can also let us know if you are interested in brain tumor advocacy. We periodically ask for advocates to support our efforts in Washington DC.
Beyond Brain Tumor Awareness Month, patients and families can get involved in the support of the “Stamp Out Brain Tumors” postage stamp to help bring awareness to this disease. We are petitioning the Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee by collecting online signatures. It’s easy to do. You can visit our website and sign our electronic petition and forward it on to friends and family.
Where can people go to learn more?
To learn more about Brain Tumor Advocacy and how you can get involved, you can visit our website or call 800.770.8287 to speak to one of our staff.
Unite to fight brain tumors. Do your part! How will you take action?
