This week our Patient Services team will be talking about Brain Tumor Action Week. Here's a message from David Arons, our new Director of Public Policy.
Hi,
As you know advocacy on public policy issues that impact the brain tumor community can be one of the best ways we can fight for new treatments, raise awareness, and hopefully find cures. While the brain tumor community raises millions of dollars for research, the federal government invests billions of dollars in the National Institutes of Health and other agencies that in turn support research on brain tumors and many other diseases.
This week is Brain Tumor Action Week. NBTS and community members will visit their Members of Congress to ask them to support brain tumor research. Please visit the NBTS website for more information. Going forward we would be honored if you would become a brain tumor advocate by letting me know if you would be willing to contact your elected officials about public policy issues that matter to our community. Let's work together to build the strongest voice ever for brain tumor patients and caregivers!
Feel free to contact me at darons@braintumor.org. I look forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
David Arons
Director of Public Policy, National Brain Tumor Society
