Hi everybody,

My daughter complained headache several times in last two months. She is only 2 now. It happens normally at night when she was in bed before sleeping. There was no cause like hit, just suddently she told her mom "I am headache" or "My head is hit by wall" and then she always touched her right front head. It seems mild since she never cry for it and is gone in seconds. It happened 4 to 5 times for last two months. No other symptoms are obtained now.

Her family doctor suggests a head CT scan. I am not sure about this. Since she has nose sinus infection now, I think it is better do it after the infection and if the symptom getting worse.

Her mom accidently receive a lower back x-ray scan when she ware pregnant for one month. That is why wer are so worrying about.

Does anybody know if it could be a symptom of brain tumor?

Thanks very much,

The latest MRI scan showed my 11 year old daughter's brain tumor came back. It is devastating for the whole family. She had been through terrible high dose chemo and stem cell rescue and radiation therapies plus a couple of major surgeries. The MRIs had showed stable conditions for a couple of years. The initial diagnosis was Medulloblastoma, but following biopsy reports after each surgery gave confused diagnosis. I consulted with doctors in a few hospitals, they could not give unanimous diagnosis of the tumor. I'm desperately looking for promising treatments either conventional or non-conventional. Can someone here share something about new brain tumor drugs and treatments?

Thanks in advance

Awhile back we told you about our plans to launch a new and improved discussion forum section. We are happy to report that the new discussion area is almost here! Please note that the forums will be temporarily unavailable on August 8th while we transfer content from the old system to the new system during that down time. You will be able to read all previous posts in the forum area during the short down period, but will not be able to post any new topics. We hope to make the transition as smooth as possible and appreciate your patience during the upgrade. We look forward to hearing your feedback about the new system when it’s up and running. Please feel free to call the Patient Services Line at 800.934.2873 or email us at info@braintumor.org with any questions.

Dear Community,

We have scheduled an upgrade to our current forums for Monday, August 8th, 2011. On this date all topics and replies posted in the forums will be moved to a new upgraded format. When you navigate to the My.BrainTumorCommunity forum page you will land on a different looking page than you are used to starting Monday, August 8th. We believe the new format will be easier to use and we will have a number of features available to you that are not available in this current version. To help you learn the new format we will set up a question and answer discussion in the new format titled, "Welcome to Discussions: Q & A." It will be located at the top of the page. Feel free to post any questions you have or review FAQs others are asking.

Additionally, you can also feel free to contact our Patient Services team at 800.934.2873 or at info@braintumor.org. Please note that your post history will be maintained with this upgrade.
My 16 year old daughter was just diagnosed with a brain tumor. She shows no signs of symptoms and they say she is symptom free. The MRI shows a possible. pilocytic astrocytoma, hemangiolastoma and atypical glioma. I am trying to get all the information I need. The doctors say it is slow growing and so far looks not to be cancerous. Doctors say she needs to have surgery for removal of the tumor. Has anybody had this surgery. Thanks
