The Brain That Changes Itself by Doidge
    By steven5
While the book is not related directly to brain tumors, it provides useful information for  anyone recovering from any brain related injury or surgery.  It has a balanced and topical approach to matters of the brain.  Solid answers replace the confusion and misinformation that is out there.  The Brain That Changes Itself  will not replace a doctor's advice, yet is a worthwhile read.  The nurse from Personal Health Support thought it would be a helpful book for me and she was right.

    Steven,

I purchased a copy of 'Change your brain, change your life' by Dr. Daniel Amen after watching a PBS program on Brain plasticity(I think it's featured during a local station fund-raising special).  There's also a series narrated by Alan Alda <http://www.pbs.org/saf/1101/index.html>.

You've probably heard of 'epigenetics' by now.  My breast cancer support group website has just listed a new drug combo aiming at disrupting the epigenetic activity (fueled by sugar/energy - thus the well-known Metaformin effect) It's in Phase III trial now, so we are getting closer everyday.

Glad the book you mentioned is helpful.  Thanks for sharing.
