Hi, I just updated my status (10-19-11) my husband passed also, on 5-25-11. We had almost 2 years fighting this GBM but in January of this year he got shingles and had to be taken off the clinical trial at UCLA because he wasn't strong enough to take the medicine. So we made him comfortable at home, trying to hang on to hope that things would turn around, but they never did. After he was gone I felt alittle guilty about feeling Free. I missed my husband and wanted him back so bad, but for awhile it seemed that he was either at work and would be home soon or he went with the guys to work on the racecar and would be back soon. Mark was 56 years. The one thing I can tell you without hesitation is I hate being thought as a widow. I've been wearing my wedding band for 32 years, and we dated for 9 years previous to that. We met in high school, I was 15 yrs and Mark was 17 yrs., so we have a deep history and an amazing son, we are so proud of. Just try to work through it or write me back to vent. I'm so sorry for your loss and remember to take care of yourself. hugs'n'smiles Buttercup

My husband and I moved to South Carolina a few years age to remodel a home, but never finished because he was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme stage 4 in March 23, 2010. He finished the rad/chemo therapy in November 2010, but he was admitted back to the hosp in Jan. 2011 with a tumor larger than the first. We were shocked! He is now in a clinical trial at Charleston MUSC. They started with the Gamma Knife and a Steroid hormone because the brain was swollen. We saw fast results.

Romo, Thanks for reaching out. I've almost forgot to keep my friends informed. My husband has a malignant glioblastoma multiforme stage 4 and he's in a clinical trial at UCLA. He was diagnosed Nov. 18, 2009. Buttercup/Debi-Linn

Hi, my husband was also diagnosis with grade lV Glioblastoma in April 2010, is on Avastin every two weeks, I fine like I'm livn in a bad dream and wakeup knowning it was just a bad dream, But I know there is no cure for this and try to make the best of each day, he is very active and has more faith then ever, when he wants to go places and do things I'm there for him he will also be 51 next month. Have you thought about going to UCSF for treatment or at least an opinion?

my husband has had the first tumor removed first time they were able to remove 70% of the tumor in April 2010 then did 5 week radiation with temador and then had surgery to remove the rest of the tumor, reason for that was edema, then did CeNuu, and has had the carbioplatin which showed some shrinking of the center of the tumor, now has been on avastin for two months doing fine, where are you getting your treatments, how often are your treatments?

I'm holding out okay, my mom is the one with Stage IV Glioblastoma and reading each person's stories, knowing we're all in the same boat makes me feel a little better about her situation. The radiation didnt work.. and the chemo... who knows. How are you doing?
