Seizures long after Tumor was removed
    By Antoinete
Hi - New to this - My 29 year old son had a brain tumor removed 2 and a half years ago. Non malignant and by the looks of the last CT and MRI scans have not returned.  He was seizure free for more than 2 years after surgery.  2 months ago he had his first seizure while sleeping.  The latest one over the past weekend - Full body - again  while sleeping but my husband heard the noise and turned him on his side.  Lasted 5 - 10 minutes - when they called me he was still not responding but shaking a little and only started to respond a while later - his pulse was over 120 and he was dis-orientated.  We called the ambulance.  Neuro Surgeon at the hospital did blood test and found the Epilum levels were very low -  increased his Epilum from 300g to 500g.  Did another CT Scan - all clear.  I don't get it!! - why does he get seizures now after such a long time since the operation.   I need advise please - His doctors are not talking much....  Can a seizure be dangerous? What do I watch out for and when do I rush him of to hospital?

Antoinete -- I'm so sorry about your son.  Having seizures is so difficult for the person having one and, I think, very, very hard on the person who loves them.
One thing dangerous is "status" -- having a seizure that will not stop or having a seizure, starting to 'wake up' and going back into another seizure and so on, over and over.
Do you have a good neuro who will answer questions and give advice?  There are neuros who see no one except adults with seizures.
